Carife Cattle Company is a small family owned business operating since 2014. Bringing the ranch back to life has been an enjoyable process, thanks to the help of our livestock and rotational grazing strategy. With this strategy our philosophy is to focus not on any one particular animal or crop, but to diversify the ranch to many animal and plant species.

FARMING PRACTICE

We currently raise grass fed beef, pastured pigs and goats, and free ranch chickens on the ranch. We implemented a rotational grazing system, utilizing both permanent fencing and electric fencing. With this strategy we have been able to:

  • Control invasive weeds and brush
  • Have Herbicide and pesticide free pastures
  • Maintain grass and trees to improve the health and 
    well-being of the land
  • Produce meat that is lean, flavorful, and nutritionally advantageous.
  • Increase our livestock inventory by 25%
  • Use water more efficiently
  • Flexibility, we can move livestock as needed to green pastures. Adopting rotational grazing systems and controlling cattle movement adds flexibility to our operation. Pastures can be removed from the rotation for maintenance or renovation. Areas can be skipped during times of rapid growth and stockpiled for later grazing.

The Cattle

Our cattle are sustainably raised, 100% grass-fed and grass finished. We don’t feed them antibiotics or give them any hormones or grain. Our farm utilizes rotational grazing practices that don’t require any herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers. We offer the finest, nutrient-rich meats!
